Nepal to play Zimbabwe Today

Nepal is set to meet Zimbabwe on Sunday in the plate quarterfinal after the African Test nation failed to proceed to the Super League of the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup on Friday.Nepal finished third in Group C after beating Namibia while Zimbabwe is fourth-placed team in Group A that also included hosts Malaysia. Zimbabwe lost all three matches in their group.

Zimbabwe lost to Pakistan on Friday despite taking early initiatives. Pakistan were at once state 21/4 but they recovered to make 173/8 from its 50 overs. Wicket-keeper Ali Asad made an unbeaten 76 and captain Imad Wasim 22.

Zimbabwe, however, was dismissed for 86 in 29 overs. The chief destroyer for Pakistan was seamer Mohammad Rameez who took 3/26. Adil Raza, Imad Wasim and Ahmad Shahzad took two wickets each.

Nepal had played Zimbabwe in the practice match losing by three wickets. In previous World Cups, Nepal had meet Zimbabwe twice - once in the 2002 Plate Final and other in 2006 first round, losing both.

Nepal on Friday moved to Johar from Penang for the plate championship.
