Our seniors, heading to Kolkata

Posted by Prabin the सोभित on शनिवार, फ्रेवुअरी 2, 2008

It is nice to know that our senior team is going to take part in CC & FC Twenty20, Kolkata.

Now-a-days, cricket is getting busy in Nepal, back to back tournaments are organised. It is the first time that cricket is being busy ever. Once Our Mr. Piller Shakti Gauchan played two tournament final in a day and won man of the series in both tournaments.

In the squad: Captain Binod Das, Manoj Kumar Baishya, Paresh Lohni, Mehboob Aalam, Dipendra Chaudhari, Shakti Gauchan, Sharad Veshwakar, Manjeet Shrestha, Sanjam Regmi, Pawan Das, Basant Regmi, Dhirendra Chand, Raju Basnet and Raj Kumar Pradhan.

I expected Sobhakant Pandey in the team but he is not. why dont they included him? He was very consistant in batting.

In the mean time, Nepal is nominated for ICC Award in 2 category. CAN is nominated for Junior cricket Initiative and Photo of the year.

    mehboob the great.

  2. one match against air india(west) was washed out. So, worse net run rate cost a berth to semifinal to sri lankan team.

What about other matches in this tournament? I don’t think losing merely one match knocked Nepal out. Give the brief summary of this tournament outcome

Air India (North) thrashed Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) by nine wickets in The Telegraph McDowell’s No. 1 Twenty20 match at the CC&FC on Friday.

Batting first, CAN were bundled out for 54 with Mahaboob Alam (20) the top scorer. MoM Ajit Chandela bagged four and Arun Pandey got two wickets. The Nepal side beat Sebastianite Lankans on Thursday. Chasing a target of 55, Air India (North) achieved it in 7.3 overs losing just one wicket.

Winning the toss, they batted 128 for 8 in 20 overs and we chased the total in 18th over loosing just one wicket, where Mehboob scored 70 and Sharad 51 not out.

congratulation once again! u made us proud!
